David is a public policy analyst, culture critic and former Time Magazine journalist. From 2006 to 2010 he was policy director of the Chicago Urban League, and in 2011 served on Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel’s transition team.

David is presently affiliated with the Institute for the Future in Palo Alto, California, which he conducts research on the future of cities. He also serves as Acting Director of Undergraduate Programs at UC Berkeley’s Graduate School of Journalism.
